journal, jan 22: playing with crayons

Today's crayon prompt reminded me of my "face a day" project. I love working with the Caran d'Ache Neocolor crayons. I start out quite garish, no?

Then I go over everything with the white crayon to blend things together. Next I would paint over it Golden titanium white, but tonight I'm just going to leave it in crayon,

and enjoy the way it looks in my book.

Later, I got back to work on my ATCs for the Artfest trade, finally. Ahh, procrastination makes the heart beat faster!
Going to bed before midnight tonight - woo hoo!

Cute little person....upside down.
Not me I pulled a midnight...but I don't have to get up as early...all day in the basement organizing Christmas ornaments and cleaning out stuff...trying to get into my studio...so I have to clean everything up and find everything. Why isn't it always kept up?? Boy this feels like art school again...I am not use to working this much on art...part of me is in the habit now and part of me says what happen to the good old days kicking back with the tv...ea

Hi Lulu,
Thank you for your comment on my altered photo. I used a thin layer of gesso. After it dries you can see a ghost of an image.

OH, forgot to say how much I like the crayon face you did. Great idea too going over it with white-I think I'll try that next time!
